Hello folks,

I am scratchbuilding a MB Mk II Ejection seat. This is b'cos the existing kit seat is horribly out of scale(Academy Hunter 1/48 F.6 kit), and I didn't want to shell out my hard earned money for a resin kit.

Here are some in progress photos. Constructive feedback will be appreciated. Still have to add the wiring, harnesses, etc, and still to be painted, so it is looking black and ugly ;P!

In case you can't see the pics above, here is the Yahoo Photos link:
Ejection Seat
Will be posting pics as I go along. Also, am planning to put up the construction as a feature article here at Armorama.

TIA,
BP.

Byte,

what's the material you used to fashion this seat, looked very interesting. Since you know how much I know about aircraft, so I don't want to comment any further, because I don't even know what a Martin Baker will look like...

Good job though, I like it.

Hi SS-74,

The materials and tools used are very very basic. Here is a list...

Materials
1. Scrap plastic, in the form of an old floppy disk, black colour.
2. Epoxy Putty, the two-mix type.
3. Super Glue
4. 28 and 35 gauge copper wire for the oxygen hose, hood holding struts and release handle(still to be done)
5. 28 Gauge insulated steel wire for the pistons and side paraphernalia(TBD)
6. Stretched sprue, for misc wires and stuff

Tools
1. 1 Wire cutter
2. No 11 blade for carving putty
3. Needle files
4. Pin vise, with 0.5mm drill bit.

Will be submitting the construction as a full fledged article, if Jim permits !

Cheers,
BP.
