Just got back from several weeks of training, and came across this old gal. We had some free time and decided to go fishing at a pond on the airstrip, which is now used mostly for helos and the occasional C130. There was a hard stand (also abandoned) and on the far side of the runway in a small field, there she sat. Stripped for the most part, little paint left, but you could tell what it was for sure. I snapped some pics one evening and have more if youre interested. I was thinking it would make a good diaorama if I ever get around to building the one in my stash.

Here's another Century Series lady living out her days ungloriously... I've always wondered what action it saw, much the like the 101 up above....

I was looking it over and thought that it must have ben the photo reconversion, as it had the ports for cameras, or at least appeared to.
This fast mover was in Mississippi, on the strip at Camp Shelby. Very well could have been used during the cuban missile crisis...one can only wonder. Maybe someone can decipher the tailnumber?

Well the tail number says it's a McDonnell RF-101C-60-MC Voodoo, in a series that saw service in Viet Nam (with the 15th, 20th, and 45th TRS) in the mid '60's. The exact aircraft is not accounted for in the list I found but this one is in the series of numbers. Originally purchased by Air Force in FY 1956 (contract year). As best as I can decypher ?
