Hey everyone, just thought I'd introduce myself. Have been doing aircraft modelling since I was a kid and am now interested in getting into dioramas. any suggestions on how to make water?

Bonjour Hayden!

Bienvenue sur Armorama!

I'm in the same position as you! I build Aircraft but want to try dioramas as well... my first steps can be seen here. I decided to make a "water" dio for the "Amphibs" Campaign. If you have question, don't hesitate! But I'm sure you would receive more feedback in the "Diorama Forum" were the real specialists are...

Hi Hayden, welcome to Armorama What a cool call sign, as somebody once said, "you just can't have too many Spitfires"
I'm looking to do a dio with water myself, having not yet taken the plunge I couldn't give you a difinative answer. I would think that Jean-Luc is right and the Diorama Forum might be your best bet to get the best answer to this question.
Don't leave us for ever though, 'cos we want to see some of you models

Hi Haden,

I experimented a little with water a while ago, documented some of the work and got some healthy tips from the fellow modelers at the diorama section. You might get some ideas and tips here, here, and here. Loads of fun, and some pretty neat results.

I recently saw a brand new(?) technique at Hyperscale, where the water was created by using kitchen tinfoil!

Good luck!

Hmmmm, seems like Spitfires are quite popular....

How about a campaign? Spitfires of the world, or something...

On this thread we already have people from Argentina, France, Britain, USA, Sweden - All countries that have employed the most beautiful plane of them all! Sure the RNZAF did not use the spit, but there were numerous pilots from New Zealand in the RAF and the FAA. And Malaysia... Well, I don't know that much about the RAF in Malaya, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had one or two spits there.

Short google break

In fact, a quick search indicates that the last operational flight made by any RAF Spitfire was flown over Malaya on 1 Apr 1954!

Anyhow, it's just a thought...

Cheers!
