Yes, it true.... I did as promised... I built an air plane.....
Since I finished this on December 3, I believe it belongs in the December MOM.
Now it really has been many years since I glued wing things together, so take it easy on the poor old shaking old man with failing eye sight.
Did nothing really special, basically just the Hasegawa BF109E3 kit, out of the box. Only additions or changes were a True Detail seat, and set of wheels. I did make up the wing cannon barrels from some plastic rod, since the molded ones got in my way.... :-) (Read that as I snapped them off too many times.) The decals were a gift from my buddy -call sign NEXY, and the main contributing factor on building this kit. The antenna wire is the spandex stuff from aeroclub, works like a charm, colored with a Sharpie. (If I ever do another aircraft that requires this type of antenna set up, I'll try stretching it a little thinner.
Top picture is the on for the voting gallery Mal.
Yes, I did use a flashlight to light the cockpit up for the photo.
Also managed to snap off the one wing gun, and canopy when reshooting photos.... LOL

Forgive my ignorance...what nationality is that? By the way, awesome 109! Can we see some more up-close shots? Thanks for your time.

Hi Dave!
Great Messer! The decoration is very original!
So this is Out Of the Box with new seat, new wheels, scratchbuild cannon barrels, spandex aerial wire and custom decals... What do you add when you don't build OOB! :-)
To paraphrase someone: "you can't have too many Messerschmitts!"

LOL Jean Luc, well, in the old days it would have been scratch-built interior, and wheel wells.... :-) :-)
Harrison.... The one planned for next year, you won't like....... :-) :-)
Mother, the antenna wire is a product sold by Aeroclub.
It's a fine thread like substance, either spandex or Lycra, and you glue one end, let it dry, then stretch it and glue the other end. It's a silvery-white in color, and practically unbreakable. I picked it up at a show years ago, but you can order it directly from Aeroclub. I can pick the model up by the antenna, the CA glue joint will break before the antenna will. You can also stretch it out to what ever thinness you need, depending upon the strength of it attachment points/masts.

It's the stretch thread ..... do a search for thread.

Very nice wingy thing there Dave. What is "spandex" stuff? Like a stretched thread from yer underwear?
If you ever do get around to taking pictures of her on a more appropriate back ground, please show em here.

Seriously, what is "spandex" stuff?

Ken, the spandex is simply a spandex type of thread.....
No need to steal the other halfs panty hose, and try to get lengths of it, (like the old IPMS article teaches) for about 5 bucks you can buy a roll from areoclub that will last a life time. It's listed under WW1 rigging thread, at the aeroclub site, noted above.

Nice job Dave. Is this Mess an E4 ? What brand is the kit ?
You can put it into a groundwork to contrast with it.

Well, got tired of seeing red X's so figured I needed to repost the photos.
I just wonder will I need to do this on all my threads with photos?

Nice one dave. I like the last photo on the cockpit. Nice touch highlighting it with a spotlight concentrating specifically on it. Based on the details on the cockpit, im guessing quite a substantial amount of time doing it up?
Well done!

Actually, Jeremy, just a little careful painting, out of the box. Only after market in the cockpit is the true details seat, which is a lot better than the kit seat.
