Hello All,

I am building the trumpeter 1/48 scale P-40B Warhawk.
I have most of the model assembled & am about to start painting.
That was until I went to make the engine exhausts , they consist of two halves, with six pipes. The fit of these two parts, both sides, is partically bad. Are there any aftermarket bits available?
The rest of the kit is very good, excellant detail, a few minor fit issues, but nothing that cant be fixed.
I have just aquired a Nikon digital camera so I will be posting some pictures of my recent builts.

I am also wondering if there is any links to infomation about the KV-1 & KV-2 tanks as I am about to build the Trumpeter kits.

Any help would be great.
Regards

Tristan

Hi Tristan,

Moskit do a set of fishtail exhausts for a P-40, I don't know if they were used on the P-40B though.

Hi there

From the photos in D&S Vol 61, it looks like the P-40B was fitted with tubular exhausts Hharkmouth has just reviewed some excellent Ultracast exhausts.

As regards the kit, there's been some debate over the size of the horizontal tail and the shape of the rudder, but an indisputable problem lies in the cockpit - which is "squashed" vertically. It's well worth getting a resin replacement set for it.

All the best

Rowan
