The review of the "Storch in Action" book and subsequent forum petition for a new 1/48th scale kit started my wish-list thinking. So, here's my list of 1/48th scale, primarily injection molded, kits I'd like to see produced, just in case any friendly manufacturer reads this :-)
Fieseler Storch
Heinkel He-177 (which MPM is reportedly going to bring out next year )
Heinkel He-115
A new Dornier Do-17z (supposedly HC is retooling theirs, I'll believe it after it comes out)
Blohm and Voss Bv-138
Bristol Beaufort
Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle
Short Stirling
A re-tooled Avro Lancaster (or even Tamy re-releasing their old "std" kit)
Vickers Wellington (come on Trumpeter!)
An updated B-17
An updated B-24
B-18
C-46 Commando
Moving way out on a limb, I'd also really like kits of allied gliders:
Horsa
Waco
And even a Hamilcar
Obviously, I build WWII subjects and like big aircraft. :-) And I do realize that the more rare subjects will probably never be released in plastic form, but it is fun to dream.
Anyone else want to share their wish-list?

Hi David
I'm also looking forward to the MPM He 177 ... won't be cheap but lets hope they get it right. (test shots at HS looking good)
Also concur with the Storch and waterplanes (a Do 24 or 26 would also be nice). I cannot comment on the british stuff, not my cup of tea .. same on the "Ami" big bombers ... I find the Commando really interesting, but this would depend on the price (I would not pay 100 Euro as for the 177)
May I add a Siebel 202 and 204, Tupolew SB/Avia B. 71, La 5 family,
looking forward to Eduards Avia 534 and I-16 family (if ever issued)
also some decals for the Fw 200 would be nice (having spent over 100 Euro on extras/corrections - kit not counted - it should have a good finish)
Well, I'm not disappointed MPM group did not issue all what they promissed at Nuremberg 2005 ... I do not have that much space, time and money
cheers
Steffen

Hi David!
We have the same taste for 1/48 WW2 planes!
So I would take your list and add the following:
- Henschel Hs 126
- Siebel Si 204
- Sukhoi Su-2
- Tupolev Tb-3
- Amiot 143
- Bloch 210
- Potez 630 serie (is on the way I think )
- IAR 80 (LTD made one but I couldn't find it yet... )
- Lots of diorama figures and airfield buildings and equipment...

I knew there were some others I'd forgotten, and quite a few have been brought up already.
Steffen, Fonderie Miniatures has announced a Do-24. Squadron.com has it on pre-order status. Not inexpensive, and probably not an easy build, but I'm considering getting one for later, when I'm brave enough to tackle it.
In the same vein, I'm considering getting the F-M Halifax too, even though it reveiws to be a challenging build.
Sort of Can anyone recommend one of the smaller F-M kits for me to try to get my feet wet with their products?
Jean-Luc, I knew there had to more people out there with the same likes
Two I had forgotten, but would be interested in. In fact, I once had the old MPM vacform edition of the Si-204 in my posession, but I traded it away for something else. Now I wish I had not done that.
I don't know enough about the Soviet and French aircraft to have an opinion right now, but will probably agree after I check them out.
Oh yes, I completely agree here!
Cheers!

Me-110, Ju88 and Dorniers nightfighters with those antennas in their noses. Stukas, a lot of Stukas, mainly kannonenvogel, and as said Andy, Japanese bombers would be great.
Typhoon, Tempest and Airacobra I also would like very much.
A WWII British Control Tower is lacking too.
Perhaps some more Skyraiders :-)

All to 1/48 injection moulded in no particular order apart from the Wellington Hampden and Stirling should be produced in 2006.
New tool Lancaster (or at least some decent detail sets, 'cos I know that when I have scratch built the interior of mine that's what will happen
Stirling.
Halifax (The FM kit seems to be a pig?)
Wellington (I can't see Trumpeter ever doing this)
Beaufort
Hampden
New tool B24
New tool B17
Gotta agree with andy........Japanese Bombers (any/all)
Also agree with Storch, Do 24/26, Hs126, Do17z.
Ju88 A-1 conversion (or kit)
The rest of the Spitfire family
I could go on.......and on.

Hi all
Mal: your welcome and in general I do not think there is need for another Ju 88 series (I like the Dragon/Revell kit)
Another hint: Revell definitely has a Nightfighter version of the Do 217 but I do not know which. Probably one with BMW 801. It is still not scheduled for release (definitely not for 2006 and IIRC also not for 2007 but thats a long time 'til then)
Also forgot one: F-84F ---- I love the French F-84F with the Israeli Star on during the Suez conflict --- maybe MPM will release some of the stuff promised (look here if you forgot)

I would, but I have so much models in the works at the same time, that I seldom finish any at a given time ... I tried for the "2 wings and a prayer" campaign and I failed (ok, I had some bad luck also but that is almost mandatory with all my projects)
2nd point ... I do not see the MPM group model comming up soon and I won't rescribe the Monogram or Heller/X-Kit(FM)
At the moment I try to fix/finish the Fw 200 (see here if you are interested) ... that is hard work!!! but I try to not loose the fun (thus little progress...)
and then there are 20+ started projects and then there is the He 177 probably comming in february...
I'll have a look and see if/when the MPM F-84F will be released
greetings from Germany
Steffen
P.S. I still have the Revell French F4U-7 Corsair in the stash ... maybe I'll do that one
