This question is for all you aircraft experts
My friend is building a Harrier for the Falkland war campaign. Because where he's from he is only limited to Tamiya colors. What color should he use? Also any other references on this Falkland aircraft is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you guys very much!

Hi WC,
They were Extra Dark Sea Grey.
Here's Don Color's scheme:
"Falkland" Sea Harrier Mk. 1
Urban Fredriksson's comprehensive model conversion chart Paint Conversion/Compare lists Tamiya XF-24 Dark Grey (FS.36118/x6132/x6152?) as Extra Dk.Sea Grey. Some of his notes: "GS:Hnnn = Gunze Sanyo acrylics; T:X/XF-nn = Tamiya acrylics; X:Xnnn = Xtracolor;
P:nnnnnn = Polly S; Hu:nnn = Humbrol; T/MM:nnnn = Testors/Model Master
Note: Gloss/matt often substitute for each other
99*x+00*y = Mix x parts 99 + y parts 00 (very approximate)"

Benjiman:
JTPRR is probably right..
Can't really say for sure what specific color this is, but i found this picture
Looks to be an overall dark gull gray color. By comparision from screen to bottle. In Tamiya terms it looks like XF-53 or XF-54 both are listed here in a conversion chart

Hope this helps

There were two different schemes. The overall Extra Dark Sea Gray scheme was worn by 800, 801, and 899 Squadrons (some aircraft). The other scheme was a Medium Sea Gray (BSC381C,637) upper/Grey (BS4800.18.B.21) under wings and tailplanes. These are taken off of Model Decal sheets #66 (EDSG schemes) and #67 (MSG schemes). Hopefully those BSC color numbers make sense.
