For the "Show Us Your Teeth" campaign I'm building Hasegawas P-40E. My question is what colour should the cockpit seat be? I've seen several P-40 seats in my research on the web as well as reverence books and there are some painted the interior green while some are a bare metal or aluminium color. Were they originally interior green and the paint slowly wore off or did some seats just leave the factory without paint?
Anybody know for sure?
Thanks

Hi Hermon
From memory, the early "rounded" seats were left n/m - it wasn't the paint wearing off. The same was true of the P-51A. Later model P-40s introduced a new "square" seat which was painted.
All the best

Thanks Merlin!
That little problem was holding me up but I can get back to my build now.
