Well done
I like the neat finish.Looks like a preserved Spit. Was that the intention?
Did you spray the invasion stripes or are they decals?
Can we see a picture of the underside please?

I finished the model in a "satin" finish, I had read that these Mk.'s were polished to increase airspeed for buzzbomb interception.

Invasion stripes are decals, but, I sprayed over the white bands as the decals were very thin and the read through made the stripes rather dull.

Belly shot: (I still need to blacken the ejection ports)

Steve

NIcely done. I wish that my last effort with invasion stripes had come out like that.

Beautiful!
I love the way you blended the camo. No hard edges. My painting skills aren't quite there yet.
Two thumbs up!

Congrats Steve. Very nice build and paint job.
The Eduard seatbelts look very nice. I have the some kit (not build yet) and looking at the invasion stripes decals I can see they´re very big. In you´re model they look very well applied. Did you use Microsol to make them conform to the surface ? Did they made big wrinkles ?

Nice, I feel a Spitfire party coming on, I have this and the Mk XIVe (bubbletop) in my collection. Both very nice kits even if they are a bit inaccurate.

Any excuse to post a Spitfire Pic'

Carlos,

In a word, these decals were ....Terrible! They are very thin and as you said, the invasion stripes are large sections. I used Solvaset, Microset and sol are just too weak for an application like this. It will take all your skills to apply the decals on this kit. They wrinkle terribly and are prone to ripping. The tail markings were off register......Very bad.

Steve
