Hi there guys!
I finally finished my Mi-24 1/48 from MiniHobbyModels!
Many problems while putting it together and a problem occured at the end with the coating which went white and foggy!
Managed to save the day at the end!!! :-) :-) :-)
I used superscale decals and added some wire to the side pylons! All the rest are OOB!
Hope you like it!!

Nice camo scheme you've got there.
I'm a bit surprised to see that the wingtips missiles appear to be Swatters. I believed the MI-24 carried much more modern AT missile like the AT-6 Spiral.

Nice job!
Camo scheme is interesting and looks like hard work.
Droopy rotor blades are a nice touch as well.
Is the instrument panel painted or a decal?
Only thing I would point out is silvering around the decals which is easily avoided with Klear/Future.
Congratulations on a well finished project

Well thanks guys!
Olivier as i mentioned it was built OOB so i used the missiles they provided!
Lampie yes the panel is painted!
As for the decals the silvering appeared cause of the problem i faced with my matt varnish!
It became foggy and ruined the whole thing!
I used a wet cloth to brush it and bring it to this result!
It's the best look after the destruction!!!!

is this helo also known as the "hind"? i'm reading a book at the moment about an sas soldier who helped the afgan rebels against the soviets, at one point the group he was with were attacked by two hinds, and only he and four others survived (one died a short time after) out of thirty odd rebels. he survived because the gunner simply stopped firing at the hole in the ground he was in for no apparent reason

Hi Blade26'
Looks like a fine job to me! Man that quarter scale is hard to bit, wouldn't you agree. Makes things nice and big...and the "Hind" is definately a big, bad piece o' metal.
You've probably already received advice on the fogged decals but just in case....I've read a buncj of material that says if you start by applying "Future" before the actual decal touches the model then it is supposed to prevent such things. I guess you gotta have an airbrush to do that though and that might not be available to you. Oh well, just thinking out loud...regardless and for what it's worth - you done good!

Kirby i have an airbrush and used it for the camo!
Also i sprayed future and all the decals were fine!
i made the weathering and then i used a matt varnish!!
There you go!Destruction!Something went wrong with the varnish(it was kind of old about 12 years) or something i did wrong while applying it!
Well never the less i saved the most of it!
It looks better now!
Cheers!

It certainly is a really good job you have done there, it certainly makes you appreciate the size of those birds.

That was a superb book. Phil, you should also read 'In Honour Bound' by Gerald Seymour, which is a fictitious account of an SAS guy sent in to Afghanistan to recover the parts of a downed Hind. Brilliant.
I have seen these babies in action (the SLAF has Hind Echoes) and they are awesome. Did a trip out to the edge of Tigerland with my father-in-law last weekend, and a couple of Hinds overflew my car on road watch. They are incredibly fast for something so huge.

should have said, the book is called the shooting gallery by gaz hunter, and after reading it i would definitly not like to be on the receiving end of those weapons

Hi George,
Your Mini Hobby Hind looks pretty good. I think I might pick one up too. What problems did you have with this kit?
