I''ve started a new poll to get some idea of everyone''s main areas of interest. Obviously, it''s a bit of a crude way of determining things, because if you''re like me your interests will cover more than one topic - but please take a moment to vote - it''ll help us make sure we provide you with the type of material that interests you.
And, by all means, add more detail about your aviation interests in the thread; it''ll all help gain a clearer picture of who''s building what.

LOL! Guess who voted first and clocked up 100% for WW2! :-)
Actually, my tastes cover WW1, though Golden Age and WW2 into the 1950s... but WW2 is my main are of interest.
All the best
Rowan
P.S. I'll add further polls soon to cover what scales etc. we work in.

Myself, my prime interest would be a category of absolutely everything.
I'm not biast when it comes to aviation, anything from the wright brothers, to the F-35, love it all!
Cheers

Hi again
Life's hard isn't it... just one choice! :-) Actually, Jim and I discussed sorting out some new Poll software to allow voting in multiple categories a little while ago; I've got several Polls in mind which could really make use of that feature. But that's for the future... 'till then, just one vote... and the chance to add more detail here of course.
All the best and thanks for voting

WW2 gives you the greatest range of any of these choices.
The advances in design and technology from the early 1930's (there where a lot of countries with very obsolete planes at the outbreak of war) to 1945 allow us the possibility of modelling everything from biplanes to jets. The choices for pre and post WW2 pale in comparison.

Moi?
Circa 1914-1955, predominately WW2, mainly PTO c.1941-43. Predominately 1/48.
That said, I am building a 1/32 ME-262 and plan to start Hasegawa's new 1/32 after or while building Trumpeter's 1/32 P-40B for Jean-Luc's Show Your Teeth
Fifteen years ago I was very interested in the Eastern Front, and then I shifted to pre-Battle of Britain Blitzkrieg; but there were not many kits available. Now there is a plethora of kits but my interests have moved on. Before that it was USAAF VS Luftwaffe.
Though 1/48 rules on my shelves, the new well detailed 1/72 are looking better and better and more appealing. I like bombers and fighters side-by-side, same scale without needing to build an extension to the house. But 1/48 it'll probably stay as I don't think I'll ever have the time to rebuild the scores of models I had when a model was built in a day.
After playing Red Baron for years on the computer I began buying WWI subjects.
Oh, eclectic as I am, my eccentric scale is the 1/100 series of jets by Tamiya, and the few WWII subjects by Doyusha, etc.
If I was told I could only build one campaign per theater, I would choose the Solomon campaign for the Pacific and North Africa for Europe. If I had to narrow further, SWPA.

Surprise, surprise.......my choice is WWII as well. Mainly American and German.......and British.....and Japanese.....as well as Italian.....and a few others. :-)
I've figured out the reason everyone models WWII. The majority of modern airforce jets have little to no camo shemes. Can you imagine building 100 to 200 model planes and only being able to paint GREY!
On a side note......
Would someone PLEASE propose another "what if" campaign soon? I wasn't around armorama when the last one was going on and I'd really like to use up some of the extra decals on something.

Hi Hermon...
we had a group build thing last year named Project X which attracted quite a few participants.
Maybe if there are enough interested Project X 2006 might be worth looking at.
I'm sure Rowan would know if its viable...or even make it a full blown campaign...just thinking out loud.

Hi Peter
I'm afraid we've used up our quota of official campaigns for this year - but I'm all for Project X 2006 as a group build. I've got some exciting Planet Models Luft '46 kits I've been itching to build! Oh! Oh! I just volunteered for ANOTHER build... when will I ever learn!? :-)

Hi Polar Bear
It's not an area I deal with specifically but, as far as I know, the only official campaigns we can run this year are the ones submitted before last December and they are listed on the Campaigns Homepage - so, if you you submitted the Suez idea after that, I fear it was to late. That said, I'm surprised that no-one has replied to you.
But a Suez theme would make a great group build this year to mark the anniversary.

Thanks for the answers, Rowan!
I might try to get a group build going later on this year - I think that many aircraft builders are currently busy with the dental and the bombs away campaigns!

Okay fine I voted for WW 2, that was my primary interest --- until we had that Project X thing, since then that seems to be all I've been able to built, damned NMF's
