1/48 scale Academy Plastic Model Helicopter. It''s the US Marines version of the CH-53E Super Sea Stallion. Available in the US in April 2006.

$90 seems like a lot compared to their 1/35 CH-46, but I am guessing it is priced that high for a reason. To no matter, I'm still buying it. I am so happy as one of my dreams have been (nearly) met (I was hoping it in 1/35). My next dream: Stryker.

I can't get over the prices of the Helicopter kits these days. Academys last CH-46 was $10-$15 more depending on where you shopped. Same kit using different decals and smaller wing stubs. I'm all for the new kit's and I'm sure I'll buy one or two, but it makes me wonder what I'll be paying for the newer Heli's in two or three years from now and that not adding in the resin and photo etch sets. $90 bucks...here I thought the new Chinook was a bit steep.
