The colour instructions for the rockets in my 1/48 Hasegawa F6F-5 give olive drab for the warhead and white for the rocket body, no problem. However the moldings have engraved lines around the warhead and rocket body which I assume are for coloured stripes. I would guess that the warhead stripes will be yellow for high explosives, but what colour are the rocket body stripes? An educated guess would be brown. Any ideas?

Holdfast, paste this link below into your explorer window thingy, ignore the top pic it's for someone else, the rocket looks all white to me on this pic.

Thancks Holocaust59, yep does look all white but the warhead looks different to the model. There also appears to be a dark coloured band just above the flange on the rocket body.

Take a look at this pic....you can just make out the tip of the rockets under the folded wing:
I think the Hasegawa instruction are accurate, I never seen and was unable to find any pictures of the rocktes with stripes on them.

Two more pics at that link I posted before. All the pics (apart from the F16 obviously) are on board CV-20 Bennington.

Incidentally, on that picture of the trolley full of warheads, have you noticed that one of the pilots appears to be Han Solo?!!
Take a look!! :-)

:-) Thanks again Holocaust59, and thanks Bombshell. Those pics combined have given me lots of info. I have no references at all on the Hellcat. Thanks again.
