I saw some Accurate Miniatures SBD-3 and 5 over at my local LHS and was wondering which of the two I needed to make an A-24? Also, are there differences in between the A-24 and the SBD aside from the decals and the color scheme? I tried looking over the net for reference color of the A-24, only to find out they are in black and white. Anyone help me?
Thanks!

The A-24's used in the Philippines were the equivalent to an SBD-3. The external differences being the removal of the arrester hook but the fairing remained in place, and a large pneumatic tail wheel.
A-24A = SBD-4
A-24B = SBD-5
The colour scheme was standard olive drab over neutral grey.

OMG! Atlast! A Philippine aircraft :-) :-) :-) Thanks a million
So that means I'll just putty in the hole wherein the arrester hook should be placed?
Got pics of the camo?

Just cut the hook off and attach the fairing.
The 27th Bomb Group was sent to the Philippines, the aircrew arrived but the aircraft were diverted to Australia. Some were sent to Java the remainder were used in New Guinea.
The French used A-24B in southern France.
There is a profile of a French A-24B in Osprey's SBD Dauntless Units of World War 2.
It also contains some small black and white pictures of US and French A-24.

There is a picture of an A-24 at Primeportal.com that is painted as a Navy SBD, perhaps you could find out what the exterior differences are.

This picture shows the external differences. Internally the A-24 had different electrical system and radios. It was also possible to convert them back to operate from carriers.
