Hey Mallory,
I'm not sure if thinners will lift alclad. I know thinners aren't good on Model Masters metalics though.
If you don't get any advice on this in the next day or so try posting the same question in the
"Painting & Airbrushing"
forum. I've had quite a few questions answered there and alot of the guys that hang out there really know what they're talking about.

I'll go over raised panel lines with a simple mechanical pencil. Smudge it slighlty and it gives a nice weathering effect.
The pencil also restores lines you sanded off.
Whoo-hoo- this is my first post here!

Hi Todd
Welcome to Armorama! And congradulations on your first post. Be warned though.......this place is very addictive and if you stay around long enough two things will probably happen.
1. You will learn even more than you already know about building great models.
2. You will have less and less time to build those great models because you'll be spending more and more time on here.
There are some great people lurking around here and in the short time I've been a member, my skills have vastly improved. My planes still look like crap but they're getting better all the time. :-)
Just jump right in and ask questions or answere them too, and don't be shy about posting pictures of any projects you have done or are currently working on.

Hi mallory and Todd, welcome to Armorama
Take heed of Hermon, this place is addictive
Mallory,
As I would always re-scribe raised panel lines I am not the person to answer your query, but I think Todd has what is deffinately a good idea and probably the best, although you may find that it is difficult to "draw" on the very smooth surface of the Alclad. You might have to give it a matt coat, or at least a satin coat for it to work. This will obviously effect the shinyness of the surface though. You may be able to get away with simply brush painting on matt varnish just over the panel lines, it wont matter that some will stray as this might give you a pleasing effect. Just my thoughts so please test before trying
Nearly forgot, It depends what enamel thinner you mean but you should be OK. Do not use celullose thinner though.

Slightly off-topic, but should you decide (in the future) to start re-scribing, one of the best investments you can make is the metallic 'Dymo' tape. Stick it round the panels and you have the perfect guide for your scribing tool...Jim (years of practice on raised panel lines )
