The new Trumpeter 1/35 CH-47A Chinook looks good so far. There have been a few issues already discussed over at FSM Helo forum. One is that Trumpeter has you incorrectly attach the upper rear hatch to the fuselage. In reality, it retracts into the lower ramp. I have figured out how to make it retract on the kit. Check out my thread at FSM on how to do it.

Gino I just had a look at it, great job on getting it to work. I took notes on it, thanks for sharing the info. Question, the shims and track you installed, will you be replacing them or keep what you already installed.

BTW: I should have mine by weeks end fingers crossed.

Joe,
Glad it will come in handy. I will be leaving it as is. None of what I added can be seen once the outer and inner ramp parts are put together. It is all hidden inside the ramp and can't be seen. No need to change it out.

let me see...the minor ramps retract all the way inside the ramp..i can have a nice vertical clearance for small vehicles! ok..but the minor ramp has no flooring? becoz it don't need any. and the kit provides a folding ramp for vehicles..ok.done. actually i haven't seen a chinook in my entire life..except in the news and discovery channel. all the while i though it opens like an upper and lower jaws. #:-)

thanks for sharing some how to's and what to's..helps alot in building my project. thanks again.

FSM moved servers a while ago and all prior links were broken. Here is the new link to it. Hope it is helpful.

I had actually planned to do similar to what you describe, but never got around to it and ended up selling the CH-47A off. Maybe I'll do it with a CH-47D...someday. So many models...so little time.

Good luck on yours and be sure to post some pics once it gets started.

Anyway Arty is King and lends dignity to what otherwise would be a vulgar brawl!!!! Over in armorama you can see my K-5 28 cm railway gun, now thats heavy arty

I was MLRS (227mm) when I picked the callsign. It just kind of stuck.
