Hi Gang,
Wanted to take a break from my usual model subjects(armor and figures) and do a kit of one of my favorite helicopters, the Russian Hind.
My question is who puts out the best kit in 1/48 of this subject? as in detail and stuff, and are there any detail stuff available for it? TIA

There are only two kits I know of, the old Monogram kit which is out of production and the newer Trumpeter kit (marketed by MiniHobby Models). The Monogram kit is better, but don't take my word for it, take a look at this: http://pmms.webace.com.au/reviews/aircraft/hind.htm.
If you are willing to wait Trumpeter is coming out with a whole family of 1/35 Hinds. Looking at its recent 1/35 Hound release it should really be a nice one.

I believe the Revell-Germany (old Monogram) 1/48 MIL-24 Hind-D is the only one available in 1/48 scale. Cobra Company does have a cockpit detail set, exterior detail, Hind-F conversion, and three weapons sets for it. Hope this helps.

I can thoroughly recomment the Cobra Company products. They are very well manufactured and go together very well.
you can do alot worse than to purchase these sets.
