As everyone will, of course, be aware it is the 70th birthday of the Spitfire on the 5th March this year (it is also my Mums birthday but more on that at a later date)
To celabrate this occasion I was contemplating have 2 MOMs next month. The normal one and a special, yes you guessed it, for the Spitfire. The normal one would begin, as usual, on the 1st and voting would begin on the 15th and end on the 31st. the special would begin on the 5th voting would start on the 20th and finish on 5th April (this is so I can get my act together and count the votes.

Great idea, Mal!
The only problem I have is that my previous Spitfire PR. Mk XIX (see pic below) was accidentally dropped on the floor and has been written off as junk!
A special MOM will, however, give my a good opportunity to build myself a new (and better!) one! But how to find the time?!?
(An alternative way to honour the most beautiful aircraft ever would be to have a group build, that could run for a longer period.)
Cheers!

I do
Home on March 6th,,and maybe I can get my MK1 pru Spit done.Only having to spray one colour will take a few days off the build, and I may get it done in time.
If I dont, its a great excuse to take some new pics of my Airfix MK1

Hi Mal,
My spitfire should be finished in time, if my Dad will move over on the modelling desk a bit :-) .

Well, my goal for the year is to have finished one aircraft from each country participating in WWII so I won't have time to work on another plane. I could submit my Spitfire from January, the crappy looking one that I forgot to use Future on but I don't think it would stand much of a chance. There seems to be a flurry of Spits in this forum all the time anyway so I'm sure there will be plenty of entrys when the time comes.

Perhaps could be a good excuse to finally finish my Malta Spitfire, if I can decide on how to paint it...

Thomas, I understand your pain, as I have a similar dilema.
