Hi Everybody,
I am building a OH-6A cayuse (1/35 Dragon) and I need to build some cables from the Cockpit dashboard towards the hole underneath the pilots there floorplate. Does anybody has some good tips to make such cables.
Has anybody any additional tips to complete this model into the smallest detail.
Thanks a lot,
General Aircraft

I have several suggestions.
First there aren't too many good references unfortunately. Don't bother buying the Wings and Wheels Production (WWP) volume. It's nowhere near as good as their Hind volume ( which shows almost every single part of the HIND)
Eduard does/did make a photoetched brass set which replaces seatbelts, pilot armor, the instrument panel, foot pedals and many other very visable details.
To actually answer your question, try fine lead solder or fly-tying wire. If those aren't easily avaialble, take a look in the jewelry making section of a craft store, they have lots of fine wire there.
I drilled out bits of evergreen rod , glued them to the backs of the instruments, then added the wiring into that.
Drop me an email and I'll dig through my pictures and some tech manual copies and see if I can put together a package of images for you. (mldhoc at aol dot com)

Try stretched sprue so that you can make the thicknesses whatever they need to be, or ordinary electrical wiring.

If you have access to a hobby store that carries autmotive detail parts, look for "ignition wire". This comes in a variety of colors, accepts paint, and is easily moldable and holds small bends witthout crimping. Unless you have references otherwise, I'd go with white. In 1970, I worked on assembling electronic cables for Grumman A-6 Intruders. All the wiring was white and bundled individual wires. These were essentially straight, as oppsed to twisted. Add a tiny bit of thread at each branch to the guages, if they show and then another tiny bit of thread at 6-8 scale inch intervals. The sealant at the plugs was a sort of fleshy colored two part epoxy. BTW, I worked on filling the plpugs and tying those knots with a white, waved, flat cord. I still have the cutters for the cord on my hobby desk.

AJ hit it. The inner wires from a household telephone cable works great and should be close to the right size. I bought one straight cable and it has lasted for years, and is a little bit cheaper than accesories from a hobby shop. I like cheap now days.LOL

Craft section at WalMart. Check out the wire in the fake flowers section. They have spools of several different sizes of small diam wire, and also some other types of wire. They're cheap, too, about $1.00 each.
