Hi,
I bought a Bf109G-10 (cheap) but i wanted to make the G6 of Hartmann
Does anyone know what changes I'll have to make to convert it to a G6?
greets
Fabian

With just a quick check, the biggest difference is probably the tail. The G-10 had the wooden tail where the G-6 did not (totally different), the G-6 had small wing bulges (to accomodate the wheels) the G-10 could have the same pr moch larger bulges, that ran the full cord of the wing. There may also be differences in antenna configuration and position of access doors for things like fuel fillers. I would have to dig a bit deeper to determine these other things.
What kit do you have? I have the Hobbycraft G-6 which I believe has the parts to build a G-10. Just wondered if it was a Hobbycraft G-10 (not sure if they boxed a G-10 seperately) you have, then it might have the parts for a G-6.

Hi Fabian
You need to pin down a photo of which of Hartmann's aircraft you want to depict.
It's actually a real minefield and even more complicated than Mal describes; depending on the production batch, G-6s could have a late-style tall wooden tail and the G-6/AS had asymetrical cowl bulges.
All the best

Hi Fabian!
Like Mal said, the differences between the G-10 and G-6 are too important to consider doing a conversion. If you bought the cheap Revell 1/48 G-10, build it as it is (it's a simple but very nice kit) and go for Hobbycraft/Academy's 1/48 G-6 if price has to be low. You will find all the parts necessary to do the version you want. The Hasegawa kits are better though.

I'm going to build a normal G-10 and buy a more expensive G6 from hasegawa and make Hartmann's version of that one.

Hi Fabian!
You still didn't told us if it is the Revell 1/48 G-10 you were talking about?

Which G6 you want to convert the Revell Bf-109G10 to? Bf-109G6 comes in different versions. The most common is with circular bulge over the cowling gun breach. G-6AS has the same engine cowling bulge as the G10. Try to be specific in your question so we can give you a definite answer.

I would like to make the AS, supposing that Hartmann flew that one too.
