Hi. Thought I would post some pics of the progress I am making on Tamiya's 1/48 scale Skyraider. I decided to build the Navy version. Everything is going well so far. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Of course it's a well-known fact that only Gentlemen can build Spads. It also seems that you are going in the right direction, although, perhaps a South Vietnamese one would also be a nice alternative...

Very nice Wingman. The weathering on the prop alone was worth the viewing. For an interior as simple and plane as this you've really done a beautiful job in bringing it to life. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Leon. The detail in the cockpit really stands out, making it easier to paint. It's just a matter of taking your time and wearing one those magnifier hats to see better up close[old age]. Thanks for the nice comments, Wingman out.

Hi Charles. I love the look of the all the differrent attack planes. The Ju87, IL2, Hs 129, Typhoon and the Skyraider. I guess you could put the P-47 in there too. The cockpit is right from the box. That's Tamiya quality for you. Thanks for looking and the kind words, Wingman out.

Hi all!

Yes! Too bad this "ugly thing" is hiding all the beautiful details!

Michael, your model looks great so far... errr, by the way, didn't you changed your avatar? Is this the dark side of the force?

Jean-Luc

P.S. BM2, I hope this is not your girlfriend! Well, in fact I hope it's your Gitlfriend!

Let me begin by saying that your work so far is outstanding. I have just started the same kit, and I wish my cockpit looked as nice as yours.
I am going to watch your build with very keen interest to say the least.
I plan on building the SAR's version.

Keep up the great work, and please post lots of pictures, so I have something to aspire to.

Hi VonCuda. Thanks for kind words. As for weathering the prop, first I applied ModelMaster aluminum and then a coat of future to protect the aluminum base coat when the weathering was done. I then applied ModelMaster flat black on top of that. I then applied the warning stripes to the tips of the blades. Then I took a worn sanding stick and sanded away the top layers of paint on the leading edges of the blades to reveal the aluminum underneath. Just in case you wondering how I went about it, thanks for looking,Wingman out.

Hi Jean-Luc. I decided to change my avatar when I was having trouble logging in and out, wanted something different. I always likes these little guys in Star Wars, I like how you just see there eyes and nothing else of there face. Thanks for the kind words, Wingman out.

Hi Ted. Thanks for the very kind comments. You should post some pics of your build. Taking your time, having nice detail OOB[the detail sits up high enough that it's easier to paint] and wearing magnifying gear and having a good light source makes everything go a lot smoother. I'll be sure to post some pics in the future, thanks for looking, Wingman out.
