Hello,
I'm back to the hobby after several years of sleeping (about 20... lol), I would like to build early Blue Angels models (F4F, etc...).
But it's difficult to find colored images of them. Do you knoiw where i can find it?
In an other point, what kind of models do you suggest (thereis a lot of recent jets, but not the earliers), and what kind of decals which are specific to Blue Angels.
Thank you, and excuse my "bad" english ;-)

What scale are you looking to do them in?

I know in the old Hasegawa/ Minicraft 1/72 F11F Tiger, there were markings for the Blue Angels on that kit sheet. And I believe Super Scale did a sheet in 1/48 scale for the F8F Bearcat in BA markings.

Try Cam Decals, they offer several sets in 1/48 and 1/32 scale. From what I have seen on their web site, they target the Phantom family. Good luck and enjoy. Mav

Sorry, I left something out. I would go with the Hasagawa 1/48 scale kits. Very nice models.

Hello Mighty Duck !
Glad to see another frenchman around the place !

Hasegawa makes some very nice kits. The problem is they tend to be a bit expensice. Revell now sells some nice kits also (some are reboxed hasegawa). Revell kits are not all that nice, so ask your retailer about a specific kit.

If you live clos to paris, you should check the shop FLIGHT 66, close to the Nation subway station. They have a good choice of kits and they are very helpful.

Yellowhammer has outstanding 1/48 Blue Angel decals for the F-4 and F-18. Contact Meteor Productions for that line.
CAM has a real nice A-4 set. You can get them from Brookhurst Hobbies.
Superscale has a combo set w/ the Thunderbirds(T-38) and Blue Angels(A-4) and C-130 Fat Albert. However, those are 1/72.
ProModelers A-4 Blue Angel is a pretty nice kit.
Fujimi has a nice Blue Angel TA-4/A-4 option kit. Hasegawas F-18 is very good. Those 2 are 1/72 though.
Have fun!!!!

I have a picture of an F11 Tiger in Blue Angel #5 markings. It's a decent shot, color, shows the front and right side. If interested let me know, I have many more but most are Hornets.

Superscale also made a sheet for the C-130 in 48th scale too. Just thought I trow that in to the mix
Also the decals in the Hasagawa F-4J Blue Angels kit are wonderfull to work with

Thanks a lot for the replies!
I'll try to make good job with them.
Lambertjr spoke about Yellowhammer (via Meteor Productions). Is there a web site for this firm?

Bye, and Happy New Year !
