Hi all...
I hope to start a reference library of aircraft types with the emphasis on light and shade, highlights and shadow. Its an idea of how I can improve the profiles.
So, and I know I ask a lot, if anyone is shooting their model for gallery etc, could I please beg three extra shots? The three I'm looking for are, directly above in plan, dead side view and dead front view. Exactly like a profile.
At the moment I apply light and shade purely by guess work , but profile references of the "lights and darks" would help me make my profiles more acurate.
It doesn't matter what type, era or Nationality the subject is, as any aircraft would be a useful example.
If anyone helps out I would be truly grateful.
Many many thanks.
Peter

Hi Peter
Shock! Horror! I should have a model finished very soon (I know, I don't say that very often! :-) ), so I'll snap some profile shots for you. Of course, I know you'd be happiest if it was one of my Luft '46 kits - but maybe next time for that...
Incidentally, for anyone taking some shots for Peter - the best results will probably come by placing the camera a reasonable distance from the kit and zooming in to fill the frame. This avoids the distorted "fish-eye lens" effect you get when the subject is very near.
All the best
Rowan

I'd be happy to Peter, just remind me when you see me post a finished model please. I will try and get a few of some of my already finished kits.

Hi Peter. I´ll be glad to do it. How do I send you the pics ? I can e-mail them to you every time I shoot a model.
Now I´m working in a Hawker Typhoon Mk V, a Spitfire Mk XIVc and a Mosquito FB Mk VI. When shooting the final pics I will take the ones for your profiles.
Hasta la vista.

Hey Pete would this include Helicopters!

i use very bright lighting to take my pics usually, would you need them to be photographed in natural light, to get more realistic highlights and shadows?

Hi Joe...
yes it would.
I hope to include a few Helicopters when I can find refs good enough to form the bases for profiles. (Rare)
I want to do a Focke Archgelis at least, so light and shade pics would indeed be a big help.
Basically I'm looking for aircraft types, rather than any plane in particular. Twin jet single seat fighter, Single engine prop single seat fighter, Twin engine prop twin seat foghter bomber etc etc.
Again many thanks

Sorry Phil I didn't give a reply earlier...
I'm not fussy. Anyway you normally shoot would be fine.
Thanks for the offer.
Thanks again.
