Hi,
I normally a armor modeller. Of course I started modeling airplanes when I was a kid - But the armor soon took over, and I rarely get back to the airplanes theese days...
But sometimes I need to build something completely different. And after reading a book dealing with WW1 aces, I bought Eduards Nieuport Ni 17.
This is the plain model without any PE and such - It's almost OOB, I only added the wires and modified a few parts.
Here is Georges Guynemer's Nieuport Ni 17 as seen in the summer of 1916:

Hi Bjoern
That's a stunner! - and you should definitely build aircraft more often!
I love the subtle weathering on the cowling and the wood-grain propeller. What paints did you use for the silver?
The only "negative" comment I could make is that you've put the camera so close to the kit that you've got a real "fish-eye" look to a couple of the pics - but the model itself is a beauty! Please show us more!
All the best
Rowan

Thanks Rowan!
You are probably right concerning photos...
I got a few more photos of the model here: http://www.howitzer.dk/modeling/pages/nieuport.html

Hi again
I've been busily adding more comments and questions while you replied! LOL! :-)
That wood-grain on the prop is excellent!
All the best

Hi Bjoern and Rowan!
Actually I do not quite agree about the "fish-eye" effect! I like it very much! I use it on my own model's pictures to give the impression the spectator is at ground level. I think it is more immersive especially with diorama pictures.
But I agree on everything else Rowan said. The model is fantastic!

It's Humbrol MET 56 and drybrushed with Humbrol MET 191.

The overall look is most impressive! The 80hp LeRhone rather than the 120hp? Not a critisim just a question.

Hi Clausen. Very nice work. I like very much the paint job. Just one little thing: the rigging seems to be a little soft (maybe the picture ?)

Nice job, clausen !
That's such a pretty little kite. With the overall aluminum finish, the colors of the markings show up nicely.
Well done !

Nice job, Bjoern!
You've really managed to replicate the metal!
Cheers!
