Were they the same colors as the corsair?, or more like an intermediate blue like a wildcat?, Any good sites for reference?

The Discovery Wings channel did a special on the Black Cats. They were painted all black and flwe night bombing missions in the Pacific. They looked cool.

The answer is - Depends.
As these guys have posted, the PBY was many different colors depending on its role.
The History Channel has run a show on the PBY and its different service roles. It's pretty good, all references were B/W so the visual color references weren't there but they did talk about coloration.

Thanks for the great links and pics, and ideas, Ive decided on a two stage camo, Dark sea blue top, into intermediate blue side, into a flat white belly. Its the 1/48 scale monogram PBY5.
