My latest build…Academy’s 1/35th UH-1C Huey gunship. I decided to show off the engine on this on, using wire and solder I was able to detail it some. The fittings are made from Evergreen plastic hex rod, filed and painted. I also added the engine support rods. It was painted in many shades of Model Masters metalizer paints. The engine bay interior was painted with a mixture of Model Masters med. green lighten with Model Masters interior green.
I also done some work to the 40mm grenade canister drum by adding the bracket supports on top that get anchored to the rear wall, and the brackets that hold it down to the floor. I really don’t care for the seats, so I decided to scratch build a set. The still need to have the padding added into them.
BTW: If anyone is planning on doing this kit, take note that part numbers B25 -27, the armor protection plating on the pilots seats are upside down in the instruction sheet. If I see anything else along the build I'll be sure to pass it along.

Hi Joe
Wow! This is going to be special! The engine-wiring is great - and those seats and their support frames are stunners...
All the best

This looks awesome! I got a UH-1C (MRC) on the shelf but still haven't found the courage to give it a go (guess that's gonna take even longer after seeing yours )
Those seats turned me into a jealous man
My hat's off to you
Kind regards
Mark

Looking great so far Joe, any idea for what unit youll mark it up as?
Will this end up being stand alone or part of a small diorama?
Cheers

Looking great Joe. Gotta love them Hueys. One pointer, the bulge on the left side against the cabin wall is a rubber fuel cell. It should be black. It also had a work platform made out of diamond plate aluminum above it as well. Not that you can really see any of this once the fuselage is put together, but that is how they were. Good job. Keep us posted.

Thanks all Yeah love the Huey, it is my favorite of all the Helicopters. I'm building her based on the Cobra Gunship Platoon of the 114th AHC (Assault Helicopter Company) which carried the nickname "Cobra Lead" in 1967.
Gino, I had those parts made up. But as you said, you won't see it at all. I just did not have them added yet.
diamond plate and fuel filler neck
