This will be my unofficial build review ( i will be writing a build review for this kit after i have finished it) for the excellent Eduard 1/72 L-39C Albatros dual combo set, i recently received and reviewed .
The kit contains 2 L-39C Albatros planes which i am building simultaneously are exactly the same until the painting and decaling.
So far i have done both cockpits, which contain the smallest P.E i have ever seen. I only managed to lose one piece, but Eduard do supply spares (thank God). It is quite hard gluing the small parts as seeing them is quite hard (even with a magnifying glass), but with patience and probably blind luck i succeeded .
Next was the 4 ejection seats, with each seat requiring 11 pieces of P.E.
It took me 5 hours to do 4 seats, but the effort is definitely worth it.
Comments welcome.

Hi Andy.
This is looking great so far.
Looking forward to following your progress.
Everytime you moan about 1/48th PE in future I will remind you of this.

Hi Andy
If I didn't know better, I'd have assumed those were shots of a 1/48 scale office! If the rest of your build matches this, it's going to be really superb!
11 parts per seat... I really bounced you into that one, didn't I! :-) :-) :-)
All the best (and enjoy! )

Hi Andy!
That cockpit and that seat are looking indeed fantastic... but I can't wait to see the job you will do with the decals... So don't forget to do you building session every day and post some more pics!

:-) :-) Thanks Rowan. I must admit to looking at the instructions about 3 times to make sure i wasn't seeing things and that there is 11 parts per seat. I cracked on with it and must admit that under the magnifying glass they do look rather good, without the magnifying glass i can't see a thing :-) :-) .
I will definitely be bouncing in to these Eduard kits again though.

Thanks Jean-Luc.
Due to some internet trouble over the last week ( i haven't been able to get access ), i have done a bit more on the building front.
I will post some update pics later on tonight.

UPDATE
I have now closed up the fuselage and added the wings, and am now at the point where the models now split into separate builds.
The cockpits are a extremely tight fit, and with a lot of fiddling around and test fitting i got it in. A little filler was required at the front of both aircraft as it didn't want to close up completely, even with the help of clamps, pegs and fingers :-) .
The "Wild Child" has some P.E aerials to add and then will be ready for spraying.
Both kits need the intakes put on and the pitots, which will be done just before spraying ( because I'm bound to snap them off if i put them on earlier :-) ).

Hi Andy!
They look good so far! The fact that you have two side by side bring back some nice souvenirs to me!
Building two identical planes at the same time isn't that much more work than buidling a single one I think... and on the second one you don't make the mistakes you do on the first one! :-)
Anyway, thanks for the update pics!

Update.
Both aircraft have now been painted. Tamiya acrylics were used and then two coats of Klear were hand brushed on.
The next part is the decaling, something which I'm not looking forward too, as this is the part where it could all go pear-shaped .
Hopefully my next post will be the finished pics.

Thanks Jean-Luc.
I have decaled the " Wild Child " ( the one on the left ). I used micro sol and set and they have come out pretty good.
I'll hopefully post some pics of her tomorrow, work permitting :-) .

Top job Andy!!
NIce one mate,,well done.
Love those dragon decals and its good that you can see all the hard work that went into the cockpits as well.
Back to 1/48th or have you got the 1/72 bug now youve seen how little shelf space they take up?

Hi Andy!
That was fast! Great job! Looks like the decals worked very well. I can't wait to read your feature about the build!

Well it was fast because they are only little :-), and i really wanted to finish them as i just love the way the "dragon" Albatros looks.
Apart from the red and white lines on the "dragon" plane the decals went on lovely.
I should start writing the feature this weekend, before i get engrossed in any other kits :-).

I'm sorry I've missed this thread Andy.
I've been gawking at the cockpit photos for about 15 minutes now! That is truely amazing work for 1/72 scale! I honestly don't see how you guys work with such small kits and make them look so great.

That's the beauty of pre-painted P.E, and a lot of patience :-) . With out the magnifying glass i couldn't see a thing :-) .
