Hi guys.
At last I could finish my Moosie. The Falcon canopy to replace the brooken one of the kit arrived last week. I was waiting the Parafilm M but as yet it didn´t arrive I dicided to use Tamiya masking tape for the task of masking the canopy. It worked well but I was terrified during the painting proces.
Poping up the canopy from the blister was a dificult job, it´s very easy to ruin the piece
Here are the pics. Hope you like them.

Coments will be appreciated

That is one truly beautiful Mosquito, Carlos! Does the Tamiya kit come with the detailed bomb bay, or did you use aftermarket stuff?

I like the subtle weathering on the belly etc. Is that the result of pre-shading?

This really makes me want to build another Mosquito. We already have one Israeli Mosquito in the Suez campaign, but if the FB.VI is allowed in the Bombs Away, I might just go for that one!

Cheers!

Thank you Frank.
I´m not enlisted in the campaign. I was thinking to present the Moosie in the May´s MOM.
Is it posible to present the model in both ?

Thank you PolarBear.
The bomb bay is the one of the kit. The detail there is fantastic as in the rest of it.
All the kit was preshaded and also I weathered it with an oil wash and black chalkpowder applied with a fine flat brush.
I´ll think about the campaign, I want to present it in the May´s MOM:-H

A real Beauty Carlos.

Love the subtlety of the shading/weathering.
Certainly brings life to the old girl.

Now... erehm...clears throat... 3 profile shots of this beauty would be a great help for my profile work.....please... end of begging

Truly a great piece of Mossie building.

Cheers and many thanks

IMHO, you should be able to submit it for both, as one is a contest and the other a campaign. Now considering you have seven months remaining in the 'Bombs Away Campaign" maybe we can persuade you to build a second entry!?!

Hi Frank.
Thanks. I just enlisted with this Moosie in the Bombs Away Campaign and I dicided to present it in the May´s MOM. I saw that Mal launched the thtread for the last one so maybe tomorrow I´ll be loading the pics.

Another kit for this campaign ? It´s a nice idea but I´ll have to see what I got in my stash. I don´t remember to have more Bombers / Fighter Bombers, except two (2) more Moosies in 1/72 (Tamiya FB Mk VI / NF Mk II - Airfix NF Mk XIX) and an Academy Thunderbolt P 47 N in 1/48. I think the last one could be considered as a FB, I understand it was used in straffing and bombing missions.
Regards.

Hi Carlos, that's a beautifully finished mossie, the preshading really looks effective. I am wondering about the interior canopy frame. Did you use the kit decals or paint it?

Thank you Martin.

I painted the exterior frame and for the interior I used the kit decals (green stripes).

Thank you Leon.
The kit is really great. A lot of parts, well detailed cockpit, bomb bay and machine guns bay, complete armament, no fit problems, good working decals, and everything a modeller would expect of fine kit. It was a joy to build and it gave a lot of fun (not problems), I highly recomend this one. I was so pleased with it that I bought the same kit again but now in 1/72 scale and I´m planing to buy another one.
Regards.

Hi Frank.

Or you´re very persuasive or I´m very easy to convince :-)
I thought in all the time that 7 months are and as my Moosie is finished today I went to the model shop and bought a Vickers Wellington Mk X / XIV and a Mitchell B 25 J both from Revell in 1/72 scale.
The result is that I dicided to make a second entry with one of these kits. The problem is that the Wellington has the bomb bay closed and I saw there is already a Mitchel B 25J in 1/48 wich is Kimmer´s entry.
I would really prefer to enter with the Wellington but I don´t know if the rules accept a closed bomb bay,
maybe a solution could be to present the AC in a dio, for example in a field with a load of bombs and petrol barrels near it.

What do you think about it ?

Beautiful Mossie! Like the little diorama base as well.

That Tamiya kit sure is a beauty isn't she? One of the best kits I've ever built

Hi Neil. Thank you.

Yes it´s a fantastic kit. I have another one in 1/72 waiting in my stash and looking all the parts it seems to be as good as the 1/48 kit.
