PrintScale may not be the most well-known decal producer, but their range of unusual subjects is definitely worth a look. Perhaps best of all, they''ve got a set of Spanish Civil War markings all lined up for the new 1/48 scale Eduard I-16:

Hello Rowan
can you add a list of the available markings to the article (It is not readable on the pictures) and is the Khalkin Gol / Khasan osero sheet also available in 1/48 (did I read Gritsevets???) ?
Hopefully Alexander found a european distributor (hannants?) or at least can take paypal payments ....
cheers

Hi Steffen!
I think it is not readable because it is written in cyrillic! I don't know if Rowan speaks Russian... :-)
I like the approach of "event" decal sheets... very nice idea!

Hi Steffen
I knew I should have listed more of the options where I could make them out - I'll try to add them later today. To be honest, my arm got the better of me last night and I had to admit defeat.
Sorry - the Lake Hasan / Hanhim Gol River set is only available in 1/72 at the moment.
All the best

Hi Jean-Luc
no it is bilingual, while the kyrillic text is better = more precise (I have seen the Khalkin Gol/ Khasan Osero at Internet Modeler over a year ago):
Internet Modeler Octobre 2004. Print Scale: Lake Khasan/Khalkin Gol
Also, I asked Alexander of Print Scale if the set will be available in 1/48 and he wrote back then, that it will be in early 2005 .... obviously it is not

Thank you Rowan!!
I am mostly interested in the Mosca sheet
best wishes to both of you

Hi Steffen
I haven't had a chance to go through my refs, but listed the schemes from the instructions. As with any decals, some of the schemes really need more scrutiny and comparison with references than a cursory overview permits.
It's the one that got me going too! (and looks a stunner!)... but, sad to say, the Moska sheet has no English text, so I've done what I can. Mea culpa for any mistakes.
All the best

Hi Rowan
Many thanks for your effort!!!
Of course I did not expect to find a full referenced evaluation of each camo scheme. I wanted just what is in the instructions ... sadly you cannot read kyrillic. It is impossible for me to make out the letters in the pictures but No. 4 looks like F. (=Fred) Tinker ... sadly there seem to be many Type 5 or 6 a/c on the Mosca sheet (which will not be issued by Eduard AFAIK) ...well lets see what Eduard will pack in the SCW combo kit (Morquillas hopefully and maybe more)
BTW I can recommend this booklet by Quirón Ediciones:
unfortunately the series was not continued (a 2nd volume and 2 volumes of the Franco pilots were announced) also the booklets are not easy to find, but I've heard you have some staff member there
cheers

Hi again Steffen
Number 4 on the Moscas sheet is shown as a Type 10, "Yellow 5" flown by Ivan Lakeev.
The choice at highschool was Russian or German... I picked the latter.
All the best

Hi again Rowan
GOOD CHOICE !!!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
I mean this one:
left side, 2nd from above (there is a 4 in a circle)
what I can make out is I-16 Type 5, Pilot amerikanskii (?) ... F. Tinker, leto (=summer) 1937 (o.k. it is a little educated guessing involved but it is far from Lakeev)
but I do not want to argue about that ....
cheers and
Steffen

Hi Steffen
Sorry - going nuts there! The Lake Hasan sheet was next to me with a nice I-16 as #4! :-)
Right - turning to the correct sheet(!) - I'll scan the details for you later today.
All the best
