Thought I would share my first completed kit in about 20 years with all of you, it is Academy's 1/48 scale Spitfire Mk XIVe. I also did my first ever airbrushing on this kit as well as Eduard PE detail. I had to paint the invasion stripes as the decals broke. These pics are before the final flat coat and installation of the tailwheel also just before my camera stopped working!
Any comments are welcome.

Hi Rob
Welcome back to the fold.
I am most impressed with your build, especially considering your long absence from the hobby.
Great job on the weathering.
Cheers Ted

Hi Rob.
Great job! Doesnt it feel good when you finish your first model after such a long break?
Interesting to see how many people choose a Spitfire for a "return" build,I know I did.
Congratulations and looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Hi Rob, and welcome to Armorama!
Funny thing as Nigel mentioned, he and I started back into the hobby at the same time and both of us chose to build Spitfires as our first builds. Yours looks great and it's a lot better than mine turned out. Now, go build something else!

Absolutely terrific after an absence of 20 years! I've haven't completed an aircraft model in 30 years or more. I'm hoping mine turns out half as nicely even without the weathering (for the Suez Stripes campaign).
Bravo!

Rob,
Great work, certainly doesn't look like you've been away for 20 years!
