I'm currently building my 1/48 F4U-1D by Tamiya. I'll be putting the models into a folded position. Tamiya calls in for US Navy Blue for the inside of the wing fold mechanism. Is this correct? I've seen some works of modelers color them green. Or are both ok?

While anyhting is possible, I suspect that ZCG/ZCY is more likely. FWIW, the 2-3 warbird Corsairs I have seen are that way, but I don't consider warbirds reliable.

Hi Ralph

As David wisely says - beware of restorations - but these pics might help:

I've only got B&W reference shots of '1Ds in my collection, but I'd go with blue...

Thanks for the tip guys! Maybe I'll stick with blue. Much easier to apply :-) :-) :-) :-)
