Hi all!
For those who don't hang around the Campaign pages, here are some pictures of my entry for the "Spanish Civil War" Group Build: Smer's 1/48 Fiat CR.32
The model was build "out of the box" :-) Well, not exactely... in fact all the details were scratchbuilded because the Smer kit is really ugly! The recessed and relief details were done by rescribing the panel lines and adding small stripes of masking tape from Tamiya. The struts were made with Evergreen rods sanded to shape and the rest was from the spare box.
For more pictures, take a look at the Official Spanish Civil War thread. You can still participate to this Group Build. I think the Republican side desperately needs some air support!

Jean-Luc,
Stunning work! What a beautiful little airplane, they don't make them like that anymore.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Jean-Luc
I won't repeat what I wrote over in Campaigns - but this must rate as one of the best transformations of a tired old kit I've ever seen! C'est vraiment superbe! (I hope that's correct French! )
All the best

Ausgezeichnet! Hervorragend! I'm lacking superlatives....
I did not think the Smer blob could be made into such a beauty. Hope I can finish my (old) CA Cr.32 half as good ... one day
cheers

Bonsoir Jean Luc.
I followed this build on the campaign thread and you have made a fabulous job of it.
It was very interesting watching how you approached this old kit in every stage.
I learnt a lot but Im not sure if Id be up for attempting something like that just yet. However,,the build thread will make an excellent reference point.

Congratulations Jean Luc. That´s a very fine job !
The camo looks really good. It looks like free hand paint job. Was it that way ?
I always say that Tamiya masking tape is a fantastic stuff, and here it is again
Very well done

Hi all!
Thanks for your kind comments...
Carlos, yes the camo was done freehand. I did my own mix of Italian "Mimeticos" with Tamiya Acrylics and used the kit's profiles on the back of the box as reference. I think it came out not too bad.
Rowan and Nigel, your French is... fantastique! Félicitations! :-)
