Trumpeter have announced (through their U.S. Importer Stevens International) a very interesting 1/72nd scale aircraft release - the British Fairey Gannet A.S. Mk 1/4. The full story can be seen:

Its very welcome news, I'll definitely be getting one. As the picture shows an AEW.3 can we expect to see a kit of that version as well. I hope that Trumpeter continues their trend of releasing FAA aircraft. Next can we have a new Seavixen

result! i have a mk1 gannet by eastern express, which i have since found out is a repop of a 60's frog kit that has nice features such as-closed gear doors moulded on the wing but holes for the undercarridge too, and a blanked off cockpit with two lumps for crew. i'll definatly keep an eye open for this
p.s. the trumpeter kit IS either a mk1 or mk4? not mk14 right? if so you do realise i'll need two to build both!

I'll certainly be getting this - however I would have preferred it in 1/48th scale. The reason? Sheer nostalgia. When I was a young kid, we used to go on holiday to the North of Scotland - right next to (what was) H.M.S. Fulmar, the R.N.A.S. at Lossiemouth. Every year seemed to coincide with a NATO exercise and I remember seeing Gannets (Both R.N. and German) in LARGE quantities along with virtually everything else in the NATO inventory at that time...Jim

The Gannet was good at what it did but you have to admit it was a

ugly aircraft!
