Hi all

Carlos and me will fight out a Battle over Britain. I guess Carlos will present his project for himself, so I will only introduce my combatant:

It is the Revell (Germany) re-boxing of Hasegawas nice Bf 109 E. The kit includes markings for Helmut Wick, which I am going to use (the first right markings as they include the small bird, see the book mentioned below for reference). Besides what is in the kit I will use some spare parts for the cockpit that I do not need for building my Classic Airframes Bf 109 A. Furthermore I acquired the Eduard Colour zoom for the Tamiya kit ... did I ever mention that I hate painting cockpits ... well, when opening the box I found another standard Zoom set which will provide some more details.

For those who are interested in the pilot I can recomment this book (which, I believe, was meanwhile also published in English (Schiffer?):

best wishes

Steffen

Hi fellows:

This is my project for the Duel Campaign. This duel is from the Battle of Britain.
IŽll be building a Spitfire Mk Ia, Tamiya brand in 1/72 scale. It will be a OOB build, IŽll add the seat belts made of lead foil and paper. Paints = Model Master Enamels. Decals = old Airfix set from spare box.

The aircraft that IŽll build is one of 234 Sqn. stationed in Middle Wallop, August 1940.

Consulting my favourite Battle of Britain source (The Most Dangerous Enemy - Stephen Bungay) it can be assumed that RAF 234 Sqn and Luftwaffe JG 2 were involved in a fight the 13 th August 1940 (Eagle Day), when JG 2 was part of the escort of raiders I.KG 54, II.KG 54 and StG. 77 that took off to attack the Royal Aircraft Establishment airfield at Farnborough and the Army cooperation airfield near Odiham. In the ocation one Bf 109 of JG 2 was lost.
Here are some pics:

Regards.
