In the mid 90's I spent the $350 to go on the B-24,for a 45 minute ride.
Very drafty and loud.after taking off we were able to go anywhere in the plane,minus the flight deck.Since my father had been a nose turret gunner,I went up there to see what his point of view had been.

there is an airport about a mile away from my fathers house that, i would say once per year has a couple of B-17's fly through, you can purchase a 15 min. ride on em. not sure how much the tickets cost, but one of these days lol

so far, the two i can recognize every time they fly in are Senetimental Journey, and Aluminum Overcast.

i missed it this last weekend they had some fun stuff going on over there with many WWII planes. inc. some flybys

Nothing beats the sound of those engines.....not even Beethoven or Mozart's best works......
As with cars, motocycles and so on, they don't build beautiful things like this anymore.
