Vintage B-24 Nose-Art
Posted: Friday, June 16, 2006 - 01:36 PM UTC
Hi there
Peter Griffin has sent us an evocative set of photos taken by his father, Royce Griffin, while serving with the 2nd/7th Field Regiment of the Royal Australian Army on Tarakan.
Among the artillery pieces and general scenes, there are some excellent views of USAAF B-24s nose-art. Can anyone supply more information on the unit based there and the individual aircraft?
All the best
Rowan

Hi Rowan!
When I click on the link I get that message:
You do not have permission to view the images in this category.
Is this some kind of "adult" section or what? :-) I really want to see the other Girls... errr pictures now!

Hi Ari
Are you logged into the Gallery? - you have to do this separately to Armorama itself. Your callsign and password are identical for the Gallery and the Main Site.
I hope this helps

Hello Rowan,
It still says
"To view larger images please login using your KitMaker Network multi-site username/password.
This is the same login for:
ModelGeek
Armorama
AeroScale
Model Shipwrights
Historicus Forma
T-Factory
Or any site in the Network
If you do not yet have a user account at a KitMaker site, you can register here.
And when I log in it doesn't work.
Could the reasonbe Mozilla, which I use instead of IE?
regards, Ari

Hi Ari
No - Mozilla is fine - I use it myself.
So what happens if you click on the login option and enter your username and password? If it doesn't accept your login, we should let Staff_Jim know.

Great gallery. I have not found many ANZAC ground fighting photos.
What impresses me is the artillery firing low trajectory; appears the Japanese were close!
Best as I can find, these B-24s were 5th Air Force's
22 (Heavy) Bombardment Group (B-24)
90 (Heavy) Bombardment Group (B-24)
380 (Heavy) Bombardment Group (B-24)
13th A.F. B-24s were involved but based at Morotia and Samar.
Regards,
Fred

Hello!
Here I am again, but no luck so far.
It does not make any difference, which photo galeery I try to look at - it does not accept my login.
It always says "welcome back. tippe", but as I proceed to the photo section, it asks me to login again.
Due to I 'm quite a new here in this forum, all help is appreciated.
cheers, Ari

Hi Ari!
When you arrive on the login page, write your callsign and password. Click login ...
if you are forwarded to the "please log in" page again, use the refresh button of your browser. You should see the gallery page then and be logged in.
At least it works for me (iMac with Safari)

When I entered my personal page after I logged in,
I got even better reply fromn this site
"Can't get backend file from the server. "
I'm confused.

Ari
