Hi Fred.
Looking good
I would be interested in seeing before/after shots of these "restoration projects".
Any particular reasons for going back to old kits like this?
All the best

Hi Nige,

Here's the BEFORE RESTORE

Why? Well, I kept a few of my favorites long ago when I culled the herd because I had to move. Some are late-builds when I was getting fair at this hobby, and look OK even today, but could use some latter-day techniques. That is what I am doing. I figure I have more new models to build than I'll ever have time for, yet I still enjoy these, so I'll restore them.

Additionally, they let me try some of my experiments on "live" models, instead of junkers. This one has my wash techniques on it.

Regards,

Fred

Hi Fred
Thanks for the explanation.
Currently I am enjoying watching the quality of my finished models improve with each one,( Ive only finished 8 since returning to the hobby).
Already I have my favourites and also models earmarked for storage when display space becomes an issue.
1 year on from starting modelling again I intend to rebuild my first effort, the Airfix MK1 Spit,so I can make a direct comparrison.
After all,,,you can never have too many Spitfires :-)
Keep up the great work
Nige
