Hi Mal
It's an elastic thread you can use to make antennas that has some "give" in it - that is unlike streetched sprue, wont break if knocked.
I haven't used it myself, but at Testors workshop, Brett Green mentions the stuff in one of his videos.
There is a site here . I have emailed them, but the email comes back as undeliverable.

Hi Peter!
Could this be the same material Lars Qvarfordt (Repainted) used to do the rigging of his excellent DH2 model?
Link to the thread here

You can buy this in a shop that sells sewing materials, in the UK it is known as "shearing elastic" and it is alot cheaper than buying via a modelling outlet.
If you aren't able to get hold of it drop me a PM, with your address and I'll send you the roll that I have (I have tried it but don't like it, I use "invisable mending thread" instead).

Try this -
you can buy it here-
http://softexpressions.com/software/threads/Invisible.php#mon
the polyester has just enough "give " to make it strech tight for rigging but it wont sag over time - if you want to tighten it pss a heat source by it and take it away it will snap tight!

Hi John
I use that stuff too, but EZline is much (!!!) more flexible unfortunately I could no find it in railroad modelling shops here in Germany until now
OTOH I am quite pleased with the smoke coloured thread ...
cheers
Steffen

Thanks Guys,
After all that I emailed the editor at Hyperscale and he put me onto a source here in Australia :-)
Mal - thanks for the offer but I think postage would be more than the price of the elastic !
Jean-Luc - you're right that is an excellent DH2. Looking at all that rigging makes me glad all I'm going to attempt is the antenna on my 109 !
Thanks again
Peter

Hi...
Just a thought in passing...
wouldn't fishing line do a similar job? Cut to very short lengths it might prove stiff enough but retain flexibility.
Angling type rather than sea fishing line I imagine.
Cheers
Peter

I too have been trying to locate this elastic polymer line used in Model railroading for telephone lines, comes in charcoal and is in 100 foot spools.

Sorry Pete, I didn't check your link before posting, part of my age challenge, :-)
Aeroclub makes a spandex thread on the same order, works good, although it's white, you can color it by stretching it, and color with a permanent marker. If you are using it on a tall mast to tail, I suggest replacing the mast with a brass or piano wire rod, embedded firmly into a drilled hole, as the plastic mast will snap over time. If it firmly attached on both ends you can pick the model up with it, and not snap it.
Hope that helps.
