Greeting all; An impromtu display of American air power on this birthday celebration. The rest of you gents set out your eagles and give us a show. Someone strike up the band for a round of Pomp and Circumstance with a dash of Yankee Doodle please. First in line Is a English built AEF purchaced Sopwith F.1 Camel of the 185th Aero. The premier night fighter i interceptor unit. Note the wing lights and Holt flares. This machine was F1445 equipped with a Grapeshot cannon in the prop boss. (Yes a single shot cannon.) Note the Bat in the yellow oval unit insignia. Oct-Nov. 1918.

Here is a Nieuport 28 from the 27th Aero, though it has a cowling from the 95th Aero it is thought to be the Cmdr's aircraft of the 27th 6301 (#16).

Next is the Spad XIII from the 94th Aero flown (when it was not being a hangar queen) by Lt. Joe Eastman S.15006 (#19).

JPTRR at your request. Here is the Cmdr's aircraft (Capt Reed Chambers) of the 94th Aero Sqdn while stationed in occupied Germany the 94th Aero decided to spend the winter months dressing up their camouflaged Spad XIII type. Their 1918-1919 Spad XIII types were christened "The Showbirds." Documentation from the neighboring 147th Aero called this "The Flag Bus" The 30 plus gallons of paint applied so impaired the flight characteristics, that it was considered unpleasant to fly.
