Here are a few pics I took today a few more can be found in my gallery and I have a few hundred more stored on my hard drive, some more of which I will add later.

I went with Harri (jetprovost) of Harricature fame (I've seen Jean-Lucs MOM prize ) I don't know about Harri but I'm still grinning from ear to ear. We could virtually touch the Aircraft as they went through final checks and run ups, what a show. It was only a small place, Selby, and I reckon it might be a good place for the Armorama 5th aniversary bash

Hi Mal
I'm guessing you flew in all of those! You lucky *****... serously, even firmly based on the ground, it looks like a grand day out!
Selby in July vs. November?... It could still be great, but it might be just a little different then, unless global warming suddenly kicks in big time...
All the best

Nice photos Mal. Looks like an enjoyable day out. You have to go a long way to get the buzz of an airshow out of your system.
I had an airshow of my own today when 2 V-22 Osprey's flew over my house this afternoon, got a couple of snaps off, then realised i didn't have the zoom set up DOH. Little dots in an open sky :-) .

Some cracking pics Mal! I would recommend this show to anyone interested in vintage stuff. It wasn't on the scale of a Duxford show, but like Mal said, we were so close to the aircraft when they were sat waiting to take off, you could almost reach out and touch them....and that Hurricane's prop-wash eh Mal?
The airfield is an old bomber base called Brieghton and is the home to the 'Real Aeroplane Company' who organised the show.
Harri.

And that is not all, not only did I pick up a couple of bargins, I mean real bargins, (you will never guess, but go on, try ) I have a contact for, possibly, cheap (relative term) Trumpeter kits.
Selby probably isn't the best place for the Armorama 5th birthday bash, but I do have another airfield in mind and they have a NAAFI, which does catering. Selby has a cafe but I forgot, in all the propwash, to ask. I did ask about walkarounds so I do plan on going back
Mal Still grinning

Wow,,wow,,and err,,,,,WOW!
Selby?,,I would never have thought of that as an airshow but now I will definately be looking out for future events.
Did you need to use the zoom much on your camera Mal or were they really that close?
Love the shot of the 2 Harvards.I have a flight booked in one of those which I will be taking as soon as health issues allow,,(not mine )
Really looking forward to seeing the rest of them when you have chance to upload them, and doesnt that black Hurricane look,,well,,,,sexy?,,, :-)
Thanks for sharing them Mal.
I trust Harri carried the picnic hamper while you were snapping away=

i've seen that ww1 german monoplane on a static display at an airshow at R.A.F. waddington, the rear gunner is actually a shop dummy! i think it saves on weight for displays. thats some nice photography mal, most pics i take like that end up as "dots in sky"

Phil, the 'gunner' in the Junkers actually had his head somehow connected to the rudder cables, so every time the rudder moved so did his head! Too cool! :-) I got some camcorder footage of it coming into land and of course the pilot's giving it quite a bit of rudder movement to keep it in line with the runway and there's the gunner happily looking out for bandits. Classic!
Nigel, I was on filming duty while Mal was on the still photography so there were no spare hands for the hamper! Mind you, we did manage a couple of dodgy airshow burgers at one point during the day. Yum.

They were that close, I'm still grinning from ear to ear A little bit of zoom was required.
Have you noticed that the stunt planes, in the last pic, they are inverted to each other. They put on an amazing show, this shot is actually at the top of a loop which they did like this and I tell you the distance and attitude never changed throughout, absolutely gobsmacking Both the pilots are flying in the Red Bull races.
So, know one want to guess what bargins I picked up?

No jets, with merlins all around who needs jets, still grinning from ear to ear
No not a Hawker of any kind, but one of them had a friend from that stable, on more ways than one and the other in one of those ways
