Hi all

I've got the Airfix 1/24th Spitfire Mk V and want to paint it in a 'different' colour scheme and want your suggestions for something cool! I'm looking for something a bit out of the ordinary so if anyone has any ideas and pics they'd be much appreciated, the more far out the better! :-)

Harri, you know that you are never going to build this so you need to donate it to a good home, somewhere where it will definately get built Alternatively convert it back to a prototype then, when you can't finish it, give it to me and I will
Not what you want to hear but I'm only being kind:-)

Thanks for your kind comments, Mal. By the way, how are the B-24, B-25, BV141, Lysander, Mosquito, IL2 etc etc coming along? Any idea when they'll be done? :-)

Harri.

AND the trio ...of Fw Ta183's...? :-) :-) :-) :-)

Another suggestion for Harri...you could do a PR MkV? Or do a Luftwaffe scheme as a captured Spit pressed into service. There was a Groupe that flew only captured allied aircraft...I think.
Mal probably knows more than me on this especially where a Spit is concerned.

Cheers

Well Harri, they are actually being built, slowly, but they are being built. I did a litttle more work on the Mosquito and I'm confident of finishing it for next months MOM. Exactly how far have you got with your Spitfire? I would suggest that you don't built it as a captured Spitfire, not if you intend to show it on the IPMS Armorama stand How about a NMF?

The Mk V that the German Groupe, 2.Staffel Versuchsverband Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe (Rosarius's circus) captured was turned into the Daimler-Benz engined version ( it apparently performed better ). So to build one you need to swap the engine, cowling - from a BF 110 and the propeller from a ME 109. But it would look kinda cool ( Mal is going to kill me :-) ).
Failing that, take a look on Wings palette , they have quite a few profiles.
