Hi..forgive me if this has been posted before. As many of us aware, the F-14 Tomcat will be withdrawn from USN service somewhere this September.
Further reading
My local modelling club is going to have a f-14 retirement party which is basically a display show of the the F-14 as well as their adversaries such as the MiGs etc..etc..the party will be held in October. There are going to be some F-14 collector that will be coming in pressure suit and helmet ... all sort of f-14 kit in all scale larger then 1/72 will be displayed in the event.
Are we going to do that kind of event (at least virtually here??)

IIRC the last Squadron has already left the Carrier fleet. It's a matter fo doing the final DEcom and sending them all to Davis-Monthan
(And a few to select other places)

Yup, the workhorse of the US Navy is going to a deep sleep. From front line fighters with that futuristic Phoenix MIssile, to bombing Taleban..it has come to an end..
I do hope to see the US navy naming a new aircraft with the same name..cos the HORNET is just too UGLY..
