After slugging along for a little over three months, this one can finally go in the display case.

1/32 Hasegawa F-104/G 'World Starfighter' kit used, to which a True Details cockpit set was added, CAM seat, PWMP pylons and centreline MN-1A, Cobra Company rocket launcher (modified), and Leading Edge decals to represent a TAM'80 Weapons Meet participant.

Thanks for looking.

Beautiful work Kevin. The detail in the cockpit is quite stunning.
The only nitpick i can see ( and a small one at that ) is the nose wheel doesn't look weighted, the rear wheels look okay.
Some great airbrush work on the camo.
Have you got a satin finish on it. Its looks pretty good, whatever is on it.

Thanks Jan and Andy, I do appreciate it.

Andy, I don't like the look of the nosewheel either. Too bad they don't supply a replacement resin one just like they do for the main wheels. For now, I'll just sand it down a little. As for the finish, I simply sprayed a thin layer of Model Master Flat Clear Acryl.

Beautiful job! Excellant detail on the cockpit, too!

It's so nice to see subjects with the Canadian markings.

i saw a couple of turkish 104's at an airshow a whiles back and the seemed to be covered in a layer of fine black dust/dirt. you've captured that effect perfectly in your weathering on this one, and the feathered edge camo looks great
exellent job kevin

Thanks Doug, Phil and Fred.

Phil oddly enough, there's a good chance that the turkish F-104's you saw were formerly wearing this camo, as Canada sold off many of their CF-104's to Turkey, including the one I modelled.

Camo is done freehand with with the tan tip of my Aztec 470

Thanks Joe and Nigel. I do appreciate it.

I seem to be getting alot of compliments on the cockpit. I take very little credit, as all I did was paint it. Oxygen tube on the seat was a piece of twine (looks good enough to me). Canvas pouch on the headrest was a resin pour stub crduely shaped. Here's some in progress pics showing the cokpit in more detail.
