hi all just a quick update on my eduard 1/72 triplane. its near enough ready for painting and because its only one colour should be a pretty easy one to spray. the "comma" tail is a separate piece, and i'll put it on turned across which is why its not on yet. the red on the cowling is a bit of a test of humbrol's number 220 gloss red

Looking good Phil.
A question about rigging,,,lol,,what else?
Will it be difficult to rig now the top wings on? I thought you would rig this as a biplane first and then add the last wing?

Looking good Phil.
How did that thing ever get off the ground :-) .
How stable is that wing configuration, it looks very delicate ?

nigel- the only rigging on the wings is from the cowling to the upper wing in an "X" i've drilled the upper wing part way through and have drilled all the way through the cowling. i intend to glue my line in the top wing "sockets" let this set, then push it through the cowl, glue it, then if theres any slack just hold it near a light bulb to gently tension the line - but you did have me thinking i'd made a boo-boo there for a minute
andy- the triplane is a heck of a robust kit, just like the original the wings are so thick in section theres no play at all, and you can see how the mid and lower wings have a really snug fit to the fusalage. in fact the first prototype did'nt have the outer wing struts, because it was felt the wings were strong enough not to need them, but the plane had a "flutter" problem at the wing tips, so the outer strut was added

Hi Phil!
Nice "little" triplane! I know you have a bigger one somewhere! :-) Will this one be in the markings of the Red Baron?
