Hi fellows:
It passed a time since I had posted my last work. Now I have just finished a Mustang P 51B in 1/48 scale. It represents Maj. Jim Howard´s aircraft (354 th FG). With this one he awarded the Medal of Honor for his six kills on the 12 th January 1944.
The kit is Tamiya and the decals I used are from a Monogram kit.
Here are the pics. Coments will be wellcome.

Very nice!
I'm about to start on that kit myself. Hopefully mine will turn out almost as nice.
Cheers

Carlos,
Only recently have I began building specific pilot's mounts. Here's my Don Gentile's Shangri-La.
I am planning to build Howard's too. He & it are one of my favorites.
Great looking model.

Hi Carlos
you did a fine job on the model!!!
One nit pick though: the Japanese flags are misprinted, maybe you should try to replace them ... you'll regret it later if you do not ... I know from experience
best wishes

Hola Carlos!
I was wondering where you had got to?
Great looking P51!!
But,,,,,,its 1:48,, :-) I thought you had moved to the dark side (1:72)?
Was the smaller scale too much for the old eyesight? :-)

Than you guys for your kind words.
I think I´ll leave the little flags the way they are, I dont´t know were I can get a replacement for them.
Nige: fortunatelly I always have a big magnifying galss near me :-)

Fantastic looking build Carlos congratulations
One question for you, how did you separate the Malcolm hood so that the cockpit can be shown open? If I remember correctly that comes as a one piece in the Tamiya kit.
Cheers
Darren

Thank you Darren.
I cut it with a fresh No. 11 X-Acto knife and then sanded smooth both of the edges.
In the cutting proces you have to go very slowly and do not apply too much pressure, if not it´s easy to brake the canopie.
Oh ! Looking at the pictures I realizad that I have forgotten the Pitot probe, I´ll add it tonight.
