at £50 though, i think i will be trying to source from the far east, as that is more than i spend on some armour models with all the aftermarket stuff!

£50 is I am afraid the normal sort of price you can expect to pay for for Trumpeter products. Keep in mind that if you buy outside of the EU you can be charged VAT on the goods and also have to pay a charge to the Post Office for collecting it.
