Hi guys:
Right know IŽm working on a Vickers Wellington Mk X for my second entry for the Bombs Away Campign and I have a question.
What was the colours of the interior of the aircraft and the interiot of the wheel wells under the nacelles ?
The instruction booklet says to use Anthtracite Grau in the interior but IŽm not sure about that, and about the wheel wells doesnŽt say anything.
IŽll appreciate very much your help in this matter.

Black/Dark Grey is probably correct for the cockpit areas as they were blacked out for night operations. The aircraft was fabric covered which was painted on the outside with red dope as a primer. Inside it probably looked a light brown colour with the geodetic structure aluminium. Wheel wells usually the same colour as the undersides.

It's entirely possible that the interior, apart from the cockpit, and turrets, was silver. The red dope was usually overpainted with anti-u/v silver, to stop rot, and the interior, of the Wellington, was easily accessible. From the photos, in "Wellington Special," the wheel wells, and bomb bay, were black.

Thnks Antony and Edgar. That helps a lot.
I think IŽll go with mate black in the cockpit and wheel wells. For the rest of the interior IŽll use a dark red primer.
Regards.
