Thanks for your vote’s guys and gal and for following my request to keep the voting simple, it certainly helps me when toting up the results.
OK, here's how it went:

    betheyn(Betty ) 4
    CPTKelley (P-47M) 16
    lampie (P-47D) 12
    Red4 (F104 NMF) 1
    hkshooter (P-40N) 2
    JPTRR (P-40C) 3
    bf443 (Harrier) 14
    Red4(F104 CAMO) 10
    Thunderthud (P-38) 8
    Thunderthud (P-47D) 1
    Holdfast (Me163B-1) 31
    alpha_tango (Me 410) 2
    Merlin (I-16) 43

The most number of 1st choice votes went to Merlin (I-16) with 12 (36 points).
The most number of 2nd choice votes went to Holdfast (Me163B-1) with 9 (18 points).
The most number of 3rd choice votes went to CPTKelley (P-47M), lampie (P-47D), JPTRR (P-40C), bf443 (Harrier) and Red4(F104 CAMO), with 3 (3 points).

24 members cast their votes, one more than last month, but the turnout was only 11, 2 less than last month but 8 away from the record of 19, although 2 members entered 2 seperate models. No ladies again this time but we live in hope for the coming months, well done to everyone who entered.

Rest assured there were no bad models here so please don't be put off with entering again and remember you can enter a model up to 3 times. Well done all those that entered and thanks for the votes.

First place was out in front from the word go and everyone else was playing catch up and I have to eat my words from last month:

nice to see an entry from Merlin, the odds are that he won't enter anything else for the rest of the year (he only enters new builds) certainley not his Halifax anyway.

I'm more than happy to do so.

The results, well done all:

1st Merlin I-16 43 points Winner of a Harricature of an I-16 and the Albatros D.III, donated by Dave (Grumpyoldman).

2nd Holdfast Me163B-1 31 points.

3rd CPTKelley P-47M 16 points.

Hi all

What a lovely holiday present to log-on to! I must admit to feeling a bit embarassed (seeing as my I-16 was almost a later than last-minute entry...) and I definitely think the difference in points unduly flatters my build. I suppose it shows how bad I am at predicting these things, but I really thought July's voting would be a very, very close call when I saw just how good everyone else's entries were. Just looking at the other models, they're all worthy of Feature articles (hint! hint!). What a great showcase of combined talents!

As Mal jokes, with my terrible prior reputation, just having new builds to enter into MoM twice in a row was reward enough for me, so you can probably imagine how I really appreciate actually winning to top it all! (Big grin!)

And, Good Grief!.. there're prizes too! I'm hugely chuffed at the prospect of Harricature #2 to follow in the prop-wash of Jean Luc's awesome Cr.32! And an Albatros too... it's almost outrageous! While a part of me says I should put it straight back in the pot for the August MoM, that would very rude to Dave for so generously donating it - and it's something I will definitely look forward to building to give my poster paint "wood-graining" a proper outing. Plus, and probably not surprisingly, seeing as I'm hardly the most "competitive" modeller in the world, this is the only time I've ever won anything in 40 years' modelling! So - even if it's an almost accidental haul - I really treasure the moment! Thank you all! (Big grin just got bigger!)

OK - tomorrow's mission... out to the LHS to find a prize to donate to the August MoM! It'll be an Isle of Wight Special - but I'll try to find something tasty!

Thank you all again

Rowan, you definately deserved the win, just a loverly I-16, but I'm surprised that it wasn't a closer run thing between you and CAPTKelly. I did notice that Harri voted for you and he did tell me that he would prefer Harricaturing an I-16.
The bonus for me is that, having struggled to finish my entry on time, I now have a new impatus to finish models that I have started. I am aiming to try and complete a new model for each MOM. August's entry is looking good and I will, hopefully, have something special for September. I still have my Fokker D.VII, but I am saving that for when I fail to get something finished, like in November, when I will be getting ready for Telford.
Thanks to all those that entered and those that voted, the question on my mind is will everybody read the opening post to the MOM, this month
Mal
