Hi all

Just thought I'd post some pics of my Matchbox Percival Provost that I've just completed. It was really just a quick build straight out of the box just to have something finished! A thoroughly enjoyable kit to build (Ahh, takes me back to being a nipper! ) a little bit of filler here and there, a blast over with some Halfords silver and there we are. Happy days! :-)

Hi Harri!

Nice one!

Ahhh Matchbox kits! A lot of souvenirs are coming back... I didn't remember building this one though. Very nice model, maybe one to "harricature" in the future!

It's 1/72nd, Fabian. As far as I know this is the only kit that's ever been available of the piston Provost and even this one's been out of production for many years. Mine was an E-bay purchase

1/72 Matchbox kits, i remember them, different coloured plastic parts in each kit and i built them in about 5 minutes :-) .
Looks a very clean build there Harri. Not an aircraft you see modeled a lot. Thanks for posting.

that looks sweet harri, a few years ago i had a good nosey at one on a static display at the RIAT, when it was at cottesmore, thought this plane was some sort of cross between a jet provost and a chipmunk!
btw did you know there is a classic british kits sig in the process of getting started on the ipms site? as a lover of the kits i grew up with in the 70's i put my name down for membership as soon as the guy whose idea it was suggested it

I don't think that I ever built any Matchbox kits, I did start a couple, Supermarine Walrus was one and I still have it, but I switched to 1/48 so that was the end of that. A very nice looking model Harri, now get it entered in the MOM

Oh, that brings back memories indeed

Yes, they were fun builds, easily done within an hour.

It's something which I think is missing nowadays.. easy kits for kids to start modelling with.
