Hobby Link Japan is shipping the brand-new 1/48 Fine Molds Kawasaki Type 95 Ki 10 "Perry". I''ve had this little biplane-beauty on pre-order for some time, so watch out for a review as soon as the kit arrives.

Also have this little beauty on preorder for some months .... got the shipping confirmation yesterday ... hope it will be as nice as the pix look

BTW mine will be the Kato version .... hope the plane of Kato is included as he was one of the most successful pilots in the China campaigns.

the Käfer took about 1 1/2 weeks .... counting the days (day 2)

cheers

Hi Rowan!

This one was not on my "to buy" list until I saw the following in your text:

This is an all-new tool by Fine Molds and includes a seated pilot figure, plus a sprue of three 55-gallon drums, ladders, chocks, oil cans, two maintenance crew figures etc.

Damned! I think I will have to get it... one day! :-)

$25.00 is a steal for a Fine Molds kit, especially 1/48.
If I was into Japanese Bi-planes, I would stock up on these, and the photo etched set. Even with the shipping it's going to be cheaper than what you'll find them at the LHS, if you ever do, and you'll probably not see the photo etch sets along side them.

From experience, I could find as many swordfish kits I wanted, but could never find the photo etched set. Ended up having to order both from overseas, from the same place. Funny how a Hong Kong or Japanese dealer can get both or have both in stock, but a US one can't.

Hi Jean-Luc

I thought that bit would grab your attention if you didn't already know the kit included "extras". As you well know, Fine Molds usually include standing figures with their kits, but it looks like they've really gone to town this time!

All the best

Hi Steffen

You're in luck! According to the info on HLJ, the kit contains decals for two of the aircraft that Kato flew.

All the best

Hi again

Well, the kit arrived on Saturday and I collected it from the sorting office this morning. First impressions are excellent - and just to torment Jean-Luc, it's clear from the instructions that the two versions available each have a different set of figures and accessories!

All the best

Hi Steffen

I'm sorry - I was hoping they'd arrived together and you'd have had a chance to take a proper look over the weekend. But I think you'll like it when it arrives!

All the best
